Morgan starred in an informational clip Safe Sex for Men and Women that addressed AIDS education and prevention. The proceeds from the film were donated to American Foundation for AIDS Research. Morgan serves as a participant of the Entertainment Industry AIDS Task Force. Morgan is the leader of numerous other fundraisers for the disease and she also testified before a special Congressional panel on AIDS education. She sits part of the board of Governors of APLA and the Board of Directors of Amfar. She has been asked to fill in for the Surgeon General who was formerly C. Everett Koop at AIDS-related events. Steve Bell, a anchor on the news, has been host of a AIDS Awareness Special. Ted Koppell asked her to appear twice on Nightline regarding AIDS. Morgan was nominated for an Emmy for her performance in the Murphy Brown episode written by Diane English for her. In the spring, she appeared as Joan Rivers on ABC's Your Money or Your Wife. The summer began with Murder At The PTA Luncheon, produced by Von Zerneck/Sertner. Marla Gibbs and Cindy Williams also appeared. The next time she appeared, Harmony Gold produced Sherlock Holmes and the Leading Lady with Christopher Lee and Patrick McNee. Morgan played the protagonist in a thriller about psychological issues that was exclusively produced for the USA Network. It received one of the highest ratings ever recorded by the network.
